Please note this is not a ‘Free play’ class. All classes will be guided by our qualified coaches and may include some ‘free time’ to work on set goals.
Set your own Skills Goals but keep them reasonable! It is much more rewarding to achieve multiple smaller goals than be defeated by going for Gold to early!

We are excited to announce that due to the increase in interest in our Adult Gymnastics class we are now splitting this program over 2 days to better facilitate our adult gymnasts’ needs.
Please read the following class information below and enroll into the class you feel would be most suited to your fitness level and skill set. If you are unsure please book for the Wednesday class where you can be assessed for suitability.

Beginner / Intermediate Adult class – Wednesday 7.00-8.30pm

Wednesday classes will be a fully structured class for those new to gymnastics as well as those that are mastering the basics. Have fun and make new friends with team building exercises and fun games to challenge your coordination, strength and agility! The class will cover a wide range of basic skills across all apparatus (mens & womens) with a main focus on handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, handsprings and other tumbling progressions. The lessons are split into fortnightly rotations covering specific apparatus and each class will include strength, conditioning and basic trampoline development.

Beginner / Intermediate Skill Development

  • Forwards and backwards rolls
  • Handstands and cartwheel development on floor and beam
  • Walkovers, roundoffs, handsprings and saulto development
  • Beam artistry and technique complex
  • Jumps, turns and leaps on beam
  • Rolls, pullovers, circles and swings on bars
  • Basic jumps and tumbling on trampolines

Intermediate / Advanced Adult Class – Thursday 7.30-9.00pm

Thursday classes are for ex-gymnasts that have mastered the skills above and for those that have graduated from the Beginner/Intermediate class. Sessions are split into fortnightly rotations covering specific apparatus (mens and womens) and will include group strength and conditioning. Gymnasts will have the opportunity to work on specific goals and develop advanced skill sets as well as routines for Masters events.

Gymnastics Masters Competition – Saturday 21st June

South Cairns Gymnastics are excited to be hosting their first Masters event in 2025. This event will include both GymSports – WAG (Womens) & MAG (Mens)
WAG – Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Floor
MAG – Vault, Pommel, Rings, Parallel Bars, High Bar, Floor
You may cross-select up to 6 of any apparatus of your choosing – this means you can choose both MAG & WAG apparatus if you desire
There are 3 divisions: Novice (Beginner), Intermediate & Open (Advanced)

For more information on our Masters event please reply to this email as soon as possible as entries close Tuesday 6th May 2025.

TRIAL CLASSES:
We offer 2 trial classes for $30, payable prior to your trial session (bank details will be sent in your confirmation email)

CLUB MEMBERSHIP:
As per all programs our Adult-ish class does require Club Membership (insurance) to be paid after the 2nd lesson.
After your first 2 sessions at $15 each you MUST register as a Club Member and pay the Membership fee (covers insurance with Gymnastics Qld, expires Dec 31 2025), and complete a Club Membership form.

Adult-ish Casual Class: Once Membership is paid…
– $20 per lesson
– Pay as you come – MUST BE PAID ON DAY OF CLASS – NO EXCEPTIONS!
– Please notify us by texting 0432 813 446 by 6pm on the day if you are coming
