South Cairns Gymnastics is in an exciting growth phase. Senior WAG Coach Role
We’re looking for an experienced WAG coach who:
- Has a strong competitive coaching background (Level 7–10)
- Cares deeply about the mental and physical well-being of athletes
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive training environment
- Is inspired to guide athletes toward state and national pathways
Events Coordinator Role

- Can organise and run local, national, and international competitions including Masters
- Is organised, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic
- Can lead the planning and delivery of fun, professional events
- Wants to elevate South Cairns Gymnastics as a competition destination

Essential Criteria
- Advanced Silver WAG Accreditation / FIG 2 (or working towards)
- Experience coaching senior levels
- Current Technical Member of Gymnastics Australia
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Work well in a team environment

SENIOR MAG COACH
Brief description:
We are looking to expand our coaching team with an enthusiastic and passionate team member to join us in topical Far North QLD. South Cairns Gymnastics is a not-for-profit incorporated club located in Bentley Park, Cairns, Queensland. Our facility is purpose built and is currently undergoing a $2million extension in order to manage a fast growing membership base of over 700 participants. Coaching staff are employed by GymSports FNQ who have been managing SCG for over 10 years and provide a wide range of quality programs including Kindergym, GymFun, GymSkills, Ninja Gymnastics, Adult class WAG L1-8 and MAG 1-5.
Details:
South Cairns Gymnastics are seeking a MAG Advanced Coach or MAG Intermediate Coach studying for their Advanced accreditation to lead our MAG Program. An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and dedicated coach who is passionate about delivering quality programs which focus on a positive learning experience to our aspiring male athletes.
Duties may include:
- MAG National levels Coach (1-5)
- Boys Recreational Coach
- Adult class coach
- Programming for MAG competitive & boys recreational programs
- Attend Regional and State Competitions
- Limited office duties, including emails
- Supervising, Junior coach mentoring
- School Programs
- Assist Senior WAG coaches with spotting
- General equipment maintenance
The successful applicant needs to have a vibrant personality, good interpersonal skills, a knowledge of the MAG National levels program, be a current Technical Member of Gymnastics Australia and hold a current first aid and working with children’s check (Blue Card). Judging Accreditation is desirable.
The position being offered can be full time, part time or casual for the right applicant. Full time hours may be achieved by coaching across a range of programs and administrative roles. Wages are negotiated upon application according to level of accreditation and experience. Relocation assistance available if required

GymSports FNQ is looking for enthusiastic people to join our Launchpad Coaching Team.
No experience is needed however a gymnastics background is preferred, all training is provided. A passion for teaching and working with school aged children is a must.
Hours are mostly between 3:30-7:30pm weekdays and Saturday mornings. Shifts are set per School Term so it is a great opportunity for those at School or University.
The minimum age for a Beginner Coach is 14 years.
GymSports FNQ also offers School-based Traineeships for those looking at a coaching career.
