We would like to invite your child to participate in South Cairns Gymnastics
ANNUAL CLUB FUNDRAISER DISPLAY EVENT.
SATURDAY 22nd APRIL 2023 (Term 2, Week 1)
All programs including our Under 5’s, Recreational and Competitive programs will be showcasing their gymnastic talents on the day.
What’s it all about?
Tumble in the Tropics is a social fundraising event that is filled with fun and excitement as we watch our gymnasts perform their display routines. This year Tumble in the Tropics will run as a live show in front of an audience at South Cairns Gymnastics Club. There will also be live family entertainment on the day including a tumbling display, family challenges and a pop quiz with chances to win prizes and raffles from local businesses. There will be plenty of yummy food, home baked goodies and drinks available to purchase.
All Gymnasts have already begun learning their routines in their class. Each routine is choreographed to ensure that all gymnasts; whether participating or not, will continue to progress in their current program.
Spectating
As we have done pre-Covid, we will be removing the Beam area to allow for more spectating, however as our membership numbers have grown substantially we will still have a limited seating capacity. Due to this we will be offering half and full event tickets for spectating to allow more families to enjoy the show. Please note that once nominations close you will receive an option to purchase spectating tickets for the session your child/children are in OR you can purchase tickets to spectate the full event.
School Holiday Rehearsal
As our Recreational programs such as GymFun and GymSkills do not attend their classes over the school holidays we will be offering short scheduled rehearsal times for those that would like to practice before the event. The rehearsal is not compulsory however it is recommended so that they are familiar with how it will look on the evening as it will be a bit different to their regular training. There is no cost for the rehearsal.

GymFun & GymSkills Boys: 9.30-9.50am
GymFun Girls session 1: 10.00-10.20am
GymFun Girls session 2: 10.30-10.50am
GymSkills Girls session 1: 11.00-11.20am
GymSkills Girls session 2: 11.30-11.50am
GymSports Levels: 3.30-4.30pm
What do we wear?
All gymnasts in our Under5’s programs, GymFun & GymSkills will be required to wear a Tumble in the Tropics T-Shirt, you will receive one of these shirts in the coming weeks as part of your 2023 Club Membership so please ensure your membership form is completed and fees have been paid in order to receive your shirt. Additional T-Shirt’s can be purchased for $20 each.
The T-Shirt colours for each group are as follows:
KinderGym, MiniGym & JuniorGym: Green
GymFun Girls: Purple
GymSkills Girls: Orange
GymFun & GymSkils Boys: Black Singlet
GymSports Levels Girls: – Information will be sent out soon from your gymnast’s coach
All groups: Black Leggings or shorts/bummies to accompany the T-shirt
Competitive squads – Costumes are organised by your gymnast’s coach
Thank you to local business STITCHING SIDEWAYS who have kindly offered to make us Black Bummies for girls with the Club logo on the leg. Cost: $27.00 with $2.00 being donated to South Cairns Gymnastics for every pair of Black Shorts purchased for the event.

Tumble in the Tropics will run over 2 separate sessions:
Session 1: 2:00-4:00pm
Under 5’s (opening act), GymFun girls (group 1) CLOSED/FULL, GymSkills girls (group 1), GymFun & GymSkills Boys (combined), Opal, Ruby, Sapphire, Dragons, GymSports Levels + Tumbling displays etc
Session 2: 4:30-6:30pm
Ninja Gymnastics, GymFun girls (group 2), GymSkills girls (group 2), Pre-Comp/Amber (combined), Diamonds, Falcons, Amethyst, Emeralds, Coaches, + Tumbling displays etc
*GymFun and GymSkills Girls will be allocated their session time on a first in best dressed basis. Please ensure you get your nominations in early to secure your preferred session time.
Ticket Prices:
$35 Session 1 OR Session 2
$50 Full Event
$12 USB keepsake of the 2023 Tumble in the Tropics Fundraiser event (optional) – includes both sessions
Ticket includes:
1x Gymnast participation
2x Adult spectators + children
$15 for each additional gymnast
$10 each additional adult spectator for 1 session
$15 each additional adult spectator for Full session
Please note: Due to our limited seating capacity additional adult tickets will only be sold once nomination have closed if there are seats available. All children will be seated on mats on the floor (not on a seat/chair).
Food, Drinks and Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Tumble in the Tropics Fundraiser!
We would like to encourage all members to bring along some loose change and try your luck with our raffles as well as enjoy some tasty food, treats and a cool drink on the day.
