Cairns Festival Parade Saturday 27th August 2022

All Competitive squad gymnasts including Diamonds, Opals, Emeralds, Sapphires, Amethysts, Rubys, Dragons, Falcons are invited to join us for the Cairns Festival Parade on Saturday 27th August.
Our display will involve a small number of gymnasts performing skills on an air-track on the float and some will sit or stand on the float. We will also have a number of gymnasts walking behind the truck. Please note that due to the parade falling in the middle of our competition season, to ensure the safety of our gymnasts including those going to Junior State Championships, any displays performed will be kept at a minimum.

What to wear: All gymnasts are to wear their Competition uniform & hair and ALL gymnasts will be required to wear joggers. Falcons are to wear their black club shirt and black shorts with joggers. Please bring a FULL water bottle.

On the day: We have not yet received final details however from past experience we will meet at Munro Martin Park on Sheridan Street at approximately 4.00pm with the parade kicking off at 5.30pm. When we know what number we are we will update you on the time to be there as it can be a very long wait for some of the little ones. They usually have FREE FACE PAINTING which looks amazing but the line up can be long!
Most Important is PICK UP: Please keep an eye on us during the parade as we require ALL gymnasts to be collected from FOGARTY PARK (walkers) and PIER CARPARK (float) IMMEDIATELY AFTER WE HAVE EXITED OFF THE STREET. Please have warm clothes for gymnasts to put on over their leotard once we exit the parade as it cools down really quickly.

How can you help? We would appreciate as many people as possible to help with decorating the truck at Munroe Martin Park and also meet us in the Pier Car park to dismantle the decorations from the truck and a couple of people to load their cars and drop everything back at the gym.
A meeting will be held on Wednesday 10th August at 5.30pm for those offering their help.

We encourage all of our competitive gymnasts to support this community event which is a fantastic opportunity to promote our amazing club and gymnasts. NOMINATIONS CLOSE: Friday 5th August
